Can I sell letter templates on Etsy?
Yes — as personal-use templates, not as legal advice. A demand letter kit, a resignation, a tenant note: allowed if you wrote it, you do not pretend to be an attorney, and the buyer gets Word or PDF they can finish the same day.
Letter kits are printables with consequences. A pretty invite that crops a name is embarrassing. A letter that claims to be “attorney-drafted” when it is not can be a policy problem and a trust problem.
What belongs in the listing
US Letter (or A4 if that is the file). Word plus PDF. Brackets a tired person can find. One filled example with fictional names, marked SAMPLE. A line that says this is not legal advice and was not written by an attorney — if the subject is money, housing, tickets, or work.
File it as a template, not as a wedding invitation. Etsy’s office and stationery trees move; pick the narrowest honest department. “Instant download” and “no physical item will be shipped” still belong in the description. People buy letter kits when they are in a hurry and assume paper arrives.
What does not belong
Court seals you do not have. A state statute copied from a blog and sold as current law. A threat of criminal charges the buyer cannot make. Canva “aesthetic” covers on a demand letter. Stock photos of lawyers.
Titles that get the job
Lead with the job: security deposit demand letter, unpaid invoice letter, resignation letter template. Then the format: Word + PDF, US Letter. Do not open with Professional Business Bundle.
Price
$9–$16 for a focused kit. An eight-letter pack can hold $12–$18. If you only ship one page, stay near $8–$11. You are selling a afternoon of work, not a law firm.
