Can I sell wedding invitations on Etsy?
Yes — as a digital printable you actually made. Instant download, your artwork, personal use. You may not sell another stationer’s suite, a stolen Canva pack, or a file that pretends a box of paper will arrive.
Wedding invitations are one of the few digital categories on Etsy where a buyer will still pay for taste. They are also where most listings die: a vague title, a Canva-beige mockup, and names cropped by the square photo.
What Etsy allows
A print-ready invitation suite is a normal digital listing. File it under Weddings / Invitations & Paper / Invitations. Say who made it (you). Mark it as a download. Do not call it a physical suite unless you print and ship it.
You need the rights to every ornament, monogram, and photograph. A font you licensed for desktop use is not automatically a font you may embed in a file you sell. Check the license. Do not put a real couple’s names on the listing photo without marking SAMPLE — people order the names they see.
What buyers actually type
They type wedding invitation, wedding invite, printable invite, RSVP card. They do not type unique digital download beautiful suite. Put the searchable words first. Style (minimalist, modern, black and cream) comes next. “Instant download” can sit later in the title or in the first lines of the description.
Why so many suites look cheap
They fill the frame. On a phone, Etsy shows a square. If the 5×7 card is photographed edge to edge, Avery loses the A and the date loses the year. Put the card smaller on a 2000×2000 canvas. Leave cream paper around it. Eight photos, not one hero stolen from a stock table.
Canva is not a crime. Claiming “editable in Canva” when the zip is two PDFs is. If you do not include a template link, do not say Canva.
Price
A single invite file lives around $8–$14. A suite (invite, RSVP, details, thank-you) can hold $18–$28 if the type is set and the photos are real. $49 for four PDFs needs a reason a careful buyer will believe.
