Can I sell printables on Etsy?

Yes — if you made the file, you have the rights, and the listing says it is a download. Personal use is the default. You may not flip a Canva pack you bought for one wedding, a stolen illustration, or a physical print you do not ship.

Printable is not a loophole. It is a product type: a file the buyer prints. Etsy allows it. Etsy also removes listings that pretend a box of paper will arrive, or that sell someone else’s type as a shop’s own work.

What “you made it” means

You set the type, or you drew the ornament, or you wrote the letter. A font you licensed for desktop use is not automatically a font you may embed in a file you sell — read that license. A photograph of a real couple needs their permission, or it needs to be marked SAMPLE and fictional.

A Canva template you purchased for personal use is not inventory. Reselling it, recoloring it and calling it yours, or bundling twenty of them as a “mega pack” is how shops get taken down.

What the listing must say

Instant download. No physical item will be shipped. The size (5×7, 18×24, US Letter). What is in the zip. Personal use, unless you are truly selling a commercial license and have the rights to grant one. File it in the narrowest honest department — wedding paper, greeting cards, or templates — not in Craft Supplies because that aisle looked emptier.

What this site will score

Invitations, save-the-dates, seating charts, letter kits, planners, thank-you cards. Not jewelry. Not a print-on-demand hoodie. If the draft is a printable, paste it. The first analysis is free and does not leave this browser.
